“Three Wise Men”

A pencil drawing of African Elephants (Loxodonta africana)

Since the early 1980’s when the Savuti Channel in Northern Botswana dried up, the wildlife of the region has been dependent on water pumped from boreholes to man-made pans. These three magnificent bull elephants would once have relied on the channel for water and then learned the position of the boreholes as they were constructed around the park. Visitors also benefit from fantastic sightings of Savuti’s elephants as we did watching the three making their daily trek to one of the pans where they would join large numbers of other bulls to socialise and drink.
