This two-year-old male lion and his pride had strayed from their territory while hunting during the night. Having eaten their fill, they headed back towards their home range and as they approached a small pan, (water hole) each one stopped in turn to drink and we were in the perfect position to see their sunlit faces out of the heavy shade of an acacia bush.
