"Reflection"

A pencil drawing of a breeding herd of African elephants (Loxodonta africana).
This herd, consisting of three adult females, a calf and an adult male, is drinking on the Chobe river in northern Botswana in the late afternoon. Viewed from a boat on the river, we were able to approach without disturbing them by drifting silently downstream. The calf is shielded from potential danger by its mother and aunt, and the other female is being courted by the bull.
