Redbilled Hornbill

(Tockus erythrorhynchus)

A common resident of eastern and central-southern Africa, this bird is a popular subject for photographers due to its smart black and white plumage and dark red bill. They usually forage on open ground for beetles and termites but we found this one looking for insects in the bark of a dead Leadwood tree.
